Emeli Sande passes 2 million sales mark

'Next To Me' hitmaker Emeli Sande has exceeded sales of more than 2 million copies with her debut studio album, 'Our Version Of Events'.

The BBC reports that not only was the record 2012's biggest seller, but it is managing the same feat this year and has now shifted more than 2 million units.

Other female solo artist to achieve the same success include the late Amy Winehouse with her album 'Back To Black', and Leona Lewis with her 2007 offering, 'Spirit'.

Earlier this week, Sande took to her official Twitter page to apologise to her fans for cancelling a series of shows at the request of her physician: "Woke up this morning and my voice had abandoned me. I've been advised to postpone the next 4 shows..."

She added: "I'm so sorry to disappoint you all but I'll be back on stage in full health very soon."
