Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version of Events' UK's top selling album of 2013

Emeli Sandé's debut album 'Our Version of Events' has been named the UK's best selling record of the year so far.

Despite the album being released in February 2012, it has sold 640,000 copies in 2013 so far.

It was also named the top selling album in the UK in 2012 having shifted over 1.2 million units.

In terms of the 2013 list, Sandé is currently around 189,000 copies ahead of her nearest rival - Michael Bublé's 'To Be Loved'.

The third best selling record of the year in the UK is currently the Les Misérables soundtrack, which has sold 452,000 copies.

One Direction could, however, usurp some of the names on the list with their third album 'Midnight Memories'.

It sold 237,000 units in its first week at the end of November and it is expected to sell well in the lead up to Christmas.
