Watch: Alt-Rock Advocates The Fall of Ego's New Music Video 'One of These Days'

Nottinghamshire indie-rock 5-piece, The Fall of Ego, continue to prove that guitar music remains very much alive and well in a mainstream saturated industry.

Having performed on and off with several bands throughout the UK since the age of 21, founding member and Singer/Songwriter Sven Fredriksson went on a brief hiatus before returning to London to work on his soon to be released album ‘World in Disguise’. Working on the album with artists such as Darrin Mooney on Drums (Primal Scream), and Barry Cadogan on Lead guitar (Little Barry & Primal Scream), as well as many other talented artists, the album from the outset boasts of its potential.

Despite being together for just two years, the band have already received national recognition from BBC Nottingham, with DJ Dean Jackson tipping their first studio album, ‘World in Disguise’, as a contender for best album of the year.

Dressed top to toe in indie-rock anthems, ‘The World in Disguise’ will no doubt have you clambering for the repeat button. Pairing powerful drums and energetic riffs with unflinchingly honest lyrics, their raw and emotive soundscapes feel reminiscent of bands such as The Stone Roses, Smashing Pumpkins and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Generating formidable, guitar-heavy floor-fillers in ‘Rise’ and ‘Hazelitis’, alongside more mellow, country-flecked tracks like ‘One Of These Days’ and ‘Time For Dreaming’ pays testament to the band’s versatility and ever-developing artistry, and suggests that their music wouldn’t feel out of place at an arena, let alone your music library.

‘World in Disguise’ is available now on all major streaming platforms.
