Fergie's husband Josh Duhamel says the pair "keep things simple" when it comes to their relationship.

The Hollywood actor and the Black Eyed Peas tied the knot in January 2009.

The couple - who are expecting their first child together later this year - insist their relationship is strong because they are compatible.

Duhamel told Hollyscoop: "We're a lot more alike than I think people think, we keep it simple, we're very communicative. I just genuinely like her and she likes me and it's about as simple as that."

Duhamel recently revealed he was looking forward to parenthood.

He told Yahoo! OMG: "It's very exciting. Seeing that ultrasound is unlike anything you've ever seen. You're like, 'Wow, it's mine'. I think that I've always had an affinity for kids. There's something about me and kids that just clicks. I don't know if it's because I am a kid, but it does prepare you whenever you're around them."
