Fifth Harmony on VMAs chances: 'Our fans go hardcore for us'

It was recently announced that girl group Fifth Harmony have been nominated for the Artist to Watch prize at the MTV Video Music Awards, which will take place this upcoming Sunday in Los Angeles.

Speaking to America's Ryan Seacrest about the moment they discovered they were up for a coveted Moonman trophy, the beauties admitted that it was overwhelming: "We were so freaked out. Everybody was screaming. Camila was in the back crying.”

The 'Bo$$' hitmakers will go up against the likes of Sam Smith, 5 Seconds of Summer, Charli XCX, and Schoolboy Q for the gong, and when asked what they think their chances of winning are, confessed that they're just so grateful of the support from their fans:

“I feel like anybody in the category is definitely deserving and worthy of the award … obviously, we want to win. Our Harmonizers go hardcore for us and I don’t put anything past them, so they could possibly make it happen.”

Back in July, when the MTV VMA nominations were first revealed, member Ally Brooke Hernandez shared a tweet with her followers about how amazing the news is and how happy it had made her

"I am in tears at 7 in the morning. We are nominated for a VMA!!! Thank you @MTV, I can't describe my overwhelming happiness. What in the world??? Genuinely am in shock and disbelief. Y'all are the best fans in the entire world. I love you all more than I can say. VMAs are like the highlight of my life. How can I process this??? BRB crying."
