Fifth Harmony: 'MTV is our best friend, they've given us such an amazing platform'

The ladies of Fifth Harmony have enjoyed a successful year and revealed that it's partly down to the support given to them by MTV.

Songstress Camila Cabello confessed that they owe a lot to the company for the amazing backing they've given them over the past few years: "MTV is our best friend and we love them. They've given us a huge platform that extends beyond our fanbase and what we had before the Artist to Watch program."

Amy Doyle, executive VP of music and talent programming strategy at MTV, joked that the girls "might as well have already become an honorary member of the MTV staff," because "they're comfortable doing everything."

Cabello went onto talk about how their presence at this year's MTV VMAs has really boosted their appeal and confessed that they're starting to get recognised by people who aren't necessarily fans:

"At the airport, people who aren't necessarily huge fans of us will come up and say, 'Oh, wait a second, aren't you from that girl group that performed at the VMAs?' There were a lot of people watching that, and we got a lot of feedback from it."
