Fifth Harmony say Simon Cowell has shown a great deal of interest in the group.

The quintet found fame on the 2010 series of the US X Factor and they are due to perform on the UK show in December.

Speaking to the Official Charts Company, singer Lauren Jauregui said that X Factor boss Cowell has been active in his interest in Fifth Harmony.

When asked if he is supportive of the group, she said:

“Of course! He’s been so supportive of us and he’s trying his hardest to break us. It’s really nice to have someone with such an esteem in the industry on our team. He’s really stuck with us as well, he’s very involved.”

Fifth Harmony will release their debut UK single 'Sledgehammer' on December 7 and they will perform the tune on the same day on the X Factor.
