Fifth Harmony on 'Reflection': 'We realised that we had to stop copying other artists'

Girl group Fifth Harmony are gearing up to release their highly anticipated debut album 'Reflection' in January and they revealed that while making it, they realised that they needed to stop trying to fit in with their contemporaries and do their own thing.

Speaking to Digital Spy about finally finding their own sound, the beauties explained they had a sudden realisation that they needed to stop 'copying' other artists' styles and be unique and bold:

"That actually happened at the beginning of this year. We were hearing different tracks and we were sat there like, 'Do you know what? I think we need to start working on ourselves right now and stop trying to copy what other people had out.' That's when the lightbulb pinged. We just needed to do Fifth Harmony and stop worrying about other people."

When asked what 'Reflection' will sound like, they added: "There will be loads of different concepts throughout. We're all about girl power and everything, but we cry sometimes and we're softies, so we can't always be like, 'Woo, girl power. We're going to come dominate the boys, blah blah blah.' That's not always the case, which is why us girls have each other to lean on and give each other advice. That's what we try to show throughout the album."
