Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello has opened up on her new friendship with Taylor Swift.

The singer recently celebrated her 18th birthday and she was pictured enjoying the occasion with Swift, Selena Gomez and Hayley Williams.

Speaking to MTV, Cabello said that she struck up a bond with '1989' star Swift after meeting at the MTV VMAs.

She said: "We were texting and she asked me what I was going to do for my birthday, and at the time I wasn’t doing anything, I was just like eating with my family. And she was like, ‘Oh, well you can’t do nothing for your birthday. Come over'.

"We met at the VMAs and we just kind of bonded. Like, we just started talking and she’s really great. She’s a really, really cool friend.”

When asked what Swift got her for her birthday, the Fifth Harmony star said:

"She got cakes. We were texting about Roscoe’s Chicken And Waffles and she had Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles there.

"She, like, invited a bunch of people over and made me feel really special and nice and I love her and they’re awesome."
