Fifth Harmony explain Billboard Music Awards performance drop-out

Fifth Harmony have told fans why they didn't perform at this year's Billboard Music Awards.

The girl group had been confirmed to give a special rendition of their single 'Worth It' at the Las Vegas ceremony on Sunday (May 17).

However, they only took to the stage on the night to present an award.

Speaking on Tumblr, Fifth Harmony said that they weren't happy with how the tune sounded during rehearsals and as a result dropped it.

They wrote: "Hey Guys!! We wanted to write a longer response about last night to clear some things up and give you the full story.

"Because of the success of 'Worth It', we were given the opportunity to do an acapella version of the song during the show. Because we didn’t get to do a rehearsal in the arena until the day of the show, and with the nature of the production of this song, we didn’t feel happy with how it sounded.

"You know we strive for perfection so after a conversation with our team, we all decided it was best to wait for a moment to showcase Worth It at its best. It was a united decision that we all made together. We love you and your passion and hope you can understand that part of our journey is making the right decisions in tough moments."
