5H on feminism: "Anything a man can do, a woman can do just as well"

American girl band Fifth Harmony have proudly declared that they are feminists in a new magazine interview.

The girls - Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui – discussed their ideas on feminism and gender equality with Latina magazine.

Normani stated: "Anything a man can do, a woman can do just as well. In society today, people devalue women and they try to pin us against each other. Like a man can walk outside without a shirt on, but a woman can't."

She also added that the band want to encourage their female fans to support each other:

"I am part of the feminist movement, but I also feel that a lot of the times women aren't supporting each other. We stand for equality and claim to be feminists, and we need to support one another."

The girls also addressed rumours of rivalry between 5H and British group Little Mix. Lauren Jauregui quashed such ideas by saying:

“We're all women trying to do our thing. We're spreading a positive message of girl empowerment, love, and self-love. And there's plenty of room for us.”
