5H's Normani to miss commitments following bereavement

Songstress Normani Kordei, of Fifth Harmony fame, has pulled out of a concert in Mexico following the death of someone "very close" to her.

She took to Twitter last night to break the news to her followers:

"It deeply saddens me to write this. As you all know I recently lost someone very close to my heart. Out of respect I feel compelled to be with my loved ones at this time. I hate to let you down but remember that you're in my thoughts."

Referring to her bandmates' forthcoming commitments, she added: "I'm with you all in spirit. I'm absolutely certain that the girls will give you all that they have and make it the best experience. I promise I'll make it up to you. @LaurenJauregui @AllyBrooke @dinahjane97 @camilacabello97 I wanna see you slay like never before ILY."

The group, meanwhile, are currently working on their highly anticipated new studio album and they recently told Fuse.TV that it's 'edgier' than their debut offering: "We’ve had more control over this album this time, as much as we can. And I would say that the album has more urban, pop, R&B and a little bit of reggae. It’s going really well, and this will show a different side to us - kind of more emotional, but also a little edgier, too.
