Fifth Harmony star burst into tears when meeting Barack Obama

Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello says she was brought to tears when she met US President Barack Obama.

The singer told Wonderland that she was overcome with emotion because of the work he has done on immigration.

She was born in Cuba before being brought to the US at the age of six, with her father hailing from Mexico.

Fifth Harmony performed at the White House Egg Roll in April last year.

Cabello said: "We did a small meet-and-greet with Obama, and he has done so much in terms of immigration, and the immigration laws that he set have helped my dad out.

"I remember we had five seconds with him, and I looked him in his eyes and I started to cry, and I was like, 'Thank you so much for everything that you've done for immigration'.

"He said, 'Thank you. I really appreciate that'. It was something I won't forget for the rest of my life because I just remember being a little girl and coming from a different country and my family starting from nothing, and to be in the White House is so crazy."
