Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui: "We need more love in the world"

Fifth Harmony sat down for a Facebook Live interview with Refinery29 this week.

During the catch up, one of the more poignant questions they were probed about was how they are managing to negotiate their pop careers and still find a way of being vocal about their political opinions, if not combining that in their music.

Lauren Jauregui has been a prolific activist for a number of important issues, like immigration, the LGBTQ community and women's rights, so it was only natural that she was approached first about the issue, to which she answered:

"There are multiple layers to who we are and what we think, what we like, and our interests and our values.

"We kind of feel a little bit responsible for our fans and how they present themselves in the world. They look up to us in a certain type of way, so we like to inspire them through our music, but mostly through interviews where we can really connect and talk to them about loving themselves and accepting themselves and being that way towards others. That's something that's really important to us.

"I feel like politically that's what the general message is right now... we need more love in the world and we really need to take a step back and learn to love each other."

Jauregui added: "On the album, we have this one song in particular that we're super excited about because we're kind of using the pop culture vehicle to be able to make our message of love known."

The girls all agreed that they are excited about the song and hope it will change peoples hearts, so whichever song they're referring to, we can't wait to hear it!
