Isle of Wight Festival reveals Foo Fighters turned down headline slot

The Isle of Wight Festival has admitted that Foo Fighters turned down the chance to headline the event next year.

The US rock group are releasing new album 'Sonic Highways' on November 10 and as a result they are a prime festival target for next summer.

When told this week on Twitter that the festival should book Dave Grohl and co. for their 2015 event, however, Isle of Wight promoter John Giddings said:

"I wish I could they said no - sorry."

Foo Fighters meanwhile recently premiered the video for their new song 'Something For Nothing'.

It is the first full track to air from 'Sonic Highways', which is being preceded with a TV documentary series.
