Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh reflect on Girls Aloud

Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh are the latest members of Girls Aloud to express their thoughts on the band's split.

As previously reported, the pop group called it a day after their final 10th anniversary tour show in Liverpool on Wednesday (March 20).

Nadine Coyle has already gone on record via Twitter to suggest that she was keen for the group to keep going.

Nicola Roberts has given her thoughts on the situation, thanking fans for their support. She said on Thursday (March 21):

"Forever Alouder's..Thankyou from all the corners of my heart. You made my dreams come true when I was so young, we are a decade in and you've given us more than I ever imagined. Memories & Dreams that I will hold in my heart forever. Sisters who I will never let leave my side. Who only could have known how crazy our journey would be but we have the best fans in the whole wide world beside us. This is true.."

The singer continued: "Today has been teary and my eyes are swollen. Its the start of a new chapter, lets smile and celebrate what we did together. Love u. Forever an Alouder. Nicola x."

Kimberley Walsh meanwhile hinted that she will continue to go solo, tweeting:

"To our Alouders, Just wanna say please don't be sad today we have had some amazing years together and we should be celebrating the incredible memories. I will always be there for you all and I know you will for me. This is just the beginning of a new journey and it's gonna be fun. Love you all for your unconditional support."
