“Adam Lambert’s Fans Are Spreading Light, Love & Hope”

Supporting the Trans Youth Equality Foundation

Glambert Angels – Light, Love and Hope” - Our Mission Statement

Glambert Angels is a fan-based movement founded by fans of Adam Lambert with the sole purpose of making a positive difference by spreading Light, Love & Hope to those in need.

*WE HOLD EACH OTHER UP*
Glambert Angels collaborate with and offer support to registered charitable organizations worldwide by raising funds for specific projects and by raising awareness for the causes we support.

Donations to our projects are made via the organizations’ Official fundraising platforms.

(*Please note* this is a fan based project and is not an official Adam Lambert project)

Why we formed the Glambert Angels:
Adam’s fans have been gifting his music to LGBT Youth and other organizations since 2009.  We began gifting Adam’s music to the USA based one•n•ten. In 2015, Adam’s fans extended their efforts in gifting Adam’s music to LGBT Youth organizations globally. The UK based group “Touch of Sparkle” also includes Adam’s CD in their care packages for patients receiving chemotherapy at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Gifting Adam’s music has been very rewarding and meaningful to all involved.

Last summer, fans gifted Adam’s CDs to PFLAG Canada Durham Region LGBT and Allies Youth Leadership Camp. The response was incredible! Fans from around the world donated CDs and autographed Adam merchandise.  The merchandise was used as prizes in a “Who Knows Adam Best” contest the camp held for their campers.  Donny Potts of PFLAG Durham Region told us that of all of the items in the campers' "Swag Bags," Adam's CDs were the item the youth were most excited to receive.  We had been discussing plans for our next support effort and ways that we could do even more to show our support, to go that extra mile - and that is how the “Glambert Angels” movement was born!

The Glambert Angels 1st  Project – The Trans Youth Equality Foundation’s Trans Youth Summer Camp Scholarship Fund:
Our decision to collaborate with the Trans Youth Equality Foundation as our first project was based, in part, on Adam’s statement that Trans Youth need our support now, more than ever.  In 2015, when our gifting Adam’s music effort went globally, in speaking to the youth organizations’ contacts, we learned that receiving funding and donations was something LGBT organizations were always struggling to obtain.  In speaking with TYEF’s director, Susan Maasch, we learned that organizations that support Transgender Youth face even a tougher road as far as obtaining support.  TYEF desperately needs support and we are honored to be able to offer TYEF our support. The Glambert Angels truly believe and that sharing “Light, Love and Hope” is something we can all do to support those in need – this is a huge part of the fabric of Adam’s fandom.  Adam wrote a very inspiring letter to accompany his music video for “Welcome to the Show.” In his letter, Adam said that, “We Hold Each Other Up” Adam’s statement carries great significance with Adam’s fans. We really do hold each other up.

About The Trans Youth Equality Foundation:
The Trans Youth Equality Foundation provides education, advocacy, and support for transgender children, youth, and their families. Their mission is to share information about the unique needs of this community, partnering with families, educators, and service providers to help foster a healthy, caring, and safe environment for all transgender children. .  TYEF was founded by the mother of a transgender child after she struggle to find resources to help her child. (TYEF is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation)

About TYEF Trans Youth Camps:
TYEF’s summer and fall Youth camps are a great mix of fun, self-reflection and a way to build confidence and community. Kids can choose kayaking, hiking, archery, swimming, arts and more, along with singing around the camp fire. Great food and bonding are their specialties. The camp also offers workshops for youth 13 years of age and up. Topics such as Trans legal rights are amongst the workshop programs. Well trained staff, including medical staff, is available 24/7.  Youth attending the camps rage in ages 7-17 (or until end of high school) Children from abroad apply for scholarships to attend the camps.  Some are also in need of financial help to travel to the camp itself. The camp is a place where the children can feel safe, accepted and free to be themselves.  Lifelong friendships are made – many of the campers have said that their camp experience was “lifesaving.”  The camp’s volunteer staff and all at TYEF have such a deep love for the children

"Trans Youth Equality Foundation is pleased to have the support of Glambert Angels as they raise funds to support our youth. We are very appreciative of their time, effort and compassion for transgender children. We know that the Glamberts are going to be enthusiastic about this effort. This support will allow us to offer summer and fall camp scholarships to support our goal that every trans child that wants to attend camp may. And that every child counts. Thank you Glambert Angels! Your support means so much to us! Adam’s fans rock!” - Susan Maasch (Director, TYEF)

Our website details our Mission Statement, our collaboration with TYEF, and donation instructions.  As our aim includes raising awareness for the causes we support, we also have a “Resources” page with information on the Transgender community and guidance for allies (provided by the National Center for Transgender Equality.)

Thus far, the response to our collaboration with TYEF has been amazing! On the 1st day alone, it has provided funding to cover the total scholarship cost to send one child to camp with more donations coming in daily. The thought that Adam’s fans have already provided one transgender youth with this valuable camp experience is so overwhelmingly heartwarming!  TYEF and the Glambert Angels are thankful to all who have contributed by donating to the fund and by sharing our website, tweets and Facebook posts. We understand that in these difficult economic times, donating may be difficult for some.  The Glambert Angels are very appreciative for any and all assistance you may give to help spread the word on our collaboration with TYEF.  In addition to providing youth with camp scholarships, wee hope to raise a lot of awareness for this vital and lifesaving organization and the Transgender community.

The Glambert Angels plan to support 3 to 4 projects annually and have other organizations signed up for upcoming projects. Please note that our projects will not coincide with Adam’s own Official charitable projects.
