From Origin To EffectDebut single from Mindofalion ‘Zia Ground’Mindofalion are unique conceptualisers. They create music that focuses on things that matter – or, at least, should matter to human civilization, yet is somehow neglected. Without preaching, the band depict their personal lifestyles and attitudes towards the world in a truly unique narrative that reaches for the stars whilst remaining grounded – no illusion, this is a band with a message that means something, told in the right way.
All is true of their debut single ‘Zia Ground. Due for release on Saturday 1st November, The track is a spiritual vision of earth’s purity which, throughout the record, jumps to the reality of earth and it’s many man made, spreading issues. Lyricist/Guitarist Archie Brewis-Lawes:
‘The purity is a vision that I can feel, and know of, but can't see – broken down to the man made destruction that’s everywhere. The lyrics portray the feeling of an energy communicating, showing the infection man is spreading through earth.”
Strong, intelligent words which are acted upon by brother, Jack Brewis-Lawes (drums) and band mate Henna Malik (bass) – the band live their speech, being the change they want to see. Set to a soundtrack of alternative indie with a dynamism ranging from a deep, harder edge to an ambient rapture. The band take to the road this Oct/Nov in support of the single, including supports for young rockers EofE and renowned Australian rock band Electric Mary.
The track is preceded by brief art fill ‘Origin’ – essentially the beginning of the ‘Zia Ground’ narrative. The clip portrays a city; the birthplace, the forefront, the origin of man made destruction. This dark picture builds up for the atmospheric release of ‘Zia Ground’.
