Bear Grylls’ Survival School Returns To CITV

Bear Grylls’ Survival School Returns To CITV CITV have re-commissioned ITV Studios production label Potato and Bear Grylls Ventures to make a second 12 x 30 minute series of Bear Grylls’ Survival School the highly acclaimed children’s adventure show.

The second series, transmitting on CITV and ITV at 8.30am from 7th January 2017, will once again see ten British kids embark on the biggest adventure of their lives, learning how to take on the great outdoors from the world’s leading survival expert.

In Bear Grylls’ Survival School, ten kids between the ages of 12 to 15, from a diverse range of backgrounds with their own personal stories are called on to abandon their much loved technology and follow survival expert Bear Grylls on an epic and life changing adventure in the famous peaks of Snowdonia in Wales.

The challenges that await them will be crucial survival techniques, unusual culinary delights, speeding helicopters, huge snakes, poisonous spiders – and some of the most eye-watering stunts ever attempted by children.

The invaluable life lessons they’ll learn along the way include teamwork, perseverance and resilience. The young explorers will have to work together and put the skills they’ve learnt into practice to accomplish a challenging survival exercise in the final episodes.

Bear Grylls said: “Young people thrive of adventure - and the wild can teach us so much: teamwork, resilience, courage, and the value of persistence, kindness and friendship. This series exposes these young people to some of most awe inspiring wilderness challenges that take them to the very edge - all the time battling bad weather, cold, fatigue and hunger. But those that endured found themselves the possessor of a confidence and pride that only the wild can provide.”

Michael Kelpie, Managing Director of Potato and Executive Producer said: “Too often we underestimate the abilities of children.  One of the many joys of making and watching this show is the constant realisation that young people never cease to amaze and when you give them the opportunity them to excel, they will show you the true meaning of excellence.”

Bear Grylls’ Survival School is co-produced by Potato and Bear Grylls Ventures (BGV) for CITV. It is executive produced by Michael Kelpie and Phil Mount and series produced by Rob Sixsmith for Potato and executive produced by Bear Grylls and Delbert Shoopman for Bear Grylls Ventures.

The first series of Bear Grylls’ Survival School was nominated for Best Children’s Programme at the 2016 Broadcast Awards.
