ITV Commissions The Family Chase

ITV Studios’ production label, Potato, has been commissioned by ITV to produce The Family Chase, a Saturday tea-time version of the international hit game show which is now made in more than 10 countries.

The six-episode run will begin on ITV later this year, with each show featuring a different family trying to stay one step ahead of the chaser for the opportunity to win a cash pot worth thousands. The four contestants will each answer a series of general knowledge questions as they attempt to get their tactics right and make it into the final chase, where they will then face the chaser once again for the chance to walk away with the prize.

Michael Kelpie, Managing Director at Potato, said: “Bringing four family members together to face the chaser brings a whole new dynamic to the most successful gameshow currently on TV. They know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, they’ve discussed a strategy beforehand but of course, that can all mean nothing when they go face-to-face against one of the UK’s finest quiz brains.”

He added: “The Family Chase compliments both the Daytime weekday and Celebrity primetime shows.  With even more fun and banter between Bradley, chasers and the families, it still delivers all the core values that has made The Chase a firm favourite with the viewers.”

The Family Chase was commissioned by Helen Warner. Potato’s Michael Kelpie, Martin Scott and Helen Tumbridge are Executive Producers.

In addition to the new UK commission, The Chase is now made in over 10 countries including Germany, Norway, the USA and Australia – where it is the country’s number one quiz show – and has been recommissioned seven times in five different countries over the past year.

The format is distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
