The Full Monty celebrity line-up revealed for new ITV show

Harry Judd, Elliot Wright and Matthew Wolfenden are among the stars who will be baring all for a new ITV documentary The Real Full Monty, marking the film’s 20th anniversary and raising awareness of men’s cancers.

The seven celebrity strippers have been photographed on-stage together for the first time today, along with host Alexander Armstrong, rehearsing under the watchful eye of choreographer and co-presenter Ashley Banjo. They are:

Harry Judd, McFly drummer
Elliot Wright, TOWIE star
Wayne Sleep, ballet dancer
Mark Foster, former Olympic swimmer
Matthew Wolfenden, Emmerdale actor
Dom Littlewood, TV Presenter
Danny John Jules, Death in Paradise / Red Dwarf actor

The nervous celebrities were being put through their paces earlier today at Shiregreen working men’s club in Sheffield, as featured in the original Full Monty film, where they had their first taste of baring their flesh in front of a live audience, in preparation for their upcoming performance at the London Palladium.

Produced by Spun Gold Television, The Real Full Monty [1x60] will follow presenters Alexander Armstrong and Ashley Banjo as they embark on their mission to teach the celebrities how to expose their famous flesh to maximum effect. The group is learning how to strip tease before they boldly do the Fully Monty, stripping completely nude in front of a 2,000 strong audience, which will feature in an episode of Tonight at the London Palladium.

Alexander Armstrong said: “We are using this film to raise awareness of men's cancer prostate and testicular, encouraging guys to check themselves and look out for their friends and act on symptoms if they have them. If caught early enough, prostate cancer is nearly 100 per cent curable, but if men are not aware of the problem or ignore symptoms, as story is not such a good one, as prostate cancer kills one man an hour.”

“I hope that by showing these men have the balls to strip off in front of thousands of people, it might encourage otherwise reluctant men to overcome their embarrassment and get themselves checked.”

Ashley Banjo said: “We’re going to have a ball making this show.  I’ll make sure viewers are in for a treat by knocking a group of famous novices into shape and preparing them for the strip tease performance of their lives – viewers will see our celebs as they’ve never seen them before!”

The Real Full Monty is commissioned for ITV by Kate Teckman, Factual Commissioner and Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment.

Sue said: “Hats off to the men who are willing to lay themselves bare to the nation to show us everything they have for what promises to be a hugely entertaining programme and performance boldly led by Alexander and Ashley.  We hope their efforts will give this important issue the exposure it needs.”

For Spun Gold Television the Executive Producer is Kevin Mundye and Director is Will Yapp.

Spun Gold’s Executive Producer, Kevin Mundye, said: “The Fully Monty is a special and iconic film and we’re delighted to be able to recreate its warmth, heart and soul for this programme – it is going to enormous amounts of fun. We’re delighted to have Ashley on hand to whip them into shape with Alexander managing the bunch of unlikely lads. This promises to be a no-holds barred, hugely entertaining show.”
