Jake Quickenden is Dancing On Ice's sixth celebrity skater

Jake Quickenden has today been confirmed as the sixth celebrity to compete in Dancing on Ice 2018.

The news was confirmed during a live TV appearance on Lorraine.

Jake will meet his professional skating partner in the coming days before embarking on training ahead of the new series, which returns to ITV in the New Year.

The 12 celebrities will be skating to impress the ice panel, consisting of skating legends Torvill and Dean, show favourite Jason Gardiner and one remaining judge, as well as the viewers at home.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby return to host the show. Jake joins previously confirmed celebrities Brooke Vincent, Cheryl Baker, Kem Cetinay, Candice Brown and Max Evans.

Jake said "I’m terrified. I had my first training session yesterday - I was freezing! Ice is cold! But it was amazing, the coaches are unbelievable. I just feel so lucky that I’ve been asked to do it. I’m so buzzing, I can’t even explain. It’s my mums favourite!... I’ve been wearing Danielle’s tights to get used to [the lycra]!”
