Iggy Azalea admits she turned down previous Ariana Grande collaboration

Iggy Azalea has revealed that she rejected the chance to appear on Ariana Grande's first album.

The two stars teamed up for the track 'Problem' on Grande's recently released record 'My Everything', but it wasn't the first time she had been asked to collaborate.

Speaking in an interview with the Grammys, the Australian rapper admitted that she spurned the chance to collaborate on Grande's 2013 debut 'Yours Truly' because of a perceived age difference.

Azalea said: "She reached out to me for her first album and I didn't do it even though I thought she was amazing, because I thought she was much younger than what she is. When I realised she was so close to my age, I was like, 'Wait you're an adult!'."

"I felt that my music was kind of so risqué and I knew she had a Disney show...I didn't feel like it was appropriate but then I actually met her and I found out that she's a grown-up and I was like 'Oh, OK!'."

Grande and Azalea's single 'Problem' meanwhile hit No.1 across the world when it was released in the early summer.
