Jack White 'wants to produce new Libertines album'

Jack White could be set to produce a new Libertines album.

The UK indie group reformed earlier this year to play some shows, including a massive date at London's Hyde Park in July.

A follow-up to the band's 2004 sophomore album 'The Libertines' has been mooted and Pete Doherty told French TV station D8 that US star Jack White has expressed his interest in producing the record.

He said: "Jack White says he'd like to do it. I'd love him to do it, it would be amazing, but I don't want to get too hopeful."

Bandmate Carl Barat meanwhile previously said that a new album could land in 2015.

He said: "I don't wanna just go on the road because then you'll get cabin fever and have an epic fallout. So yeah, I want to keep something fresh coming in. We just need to find the time."
