Musician Jake Bugg is gearing up to release a new album, entitled 'On My One', this summer. 

The record will drop on June 17 through Virgin EMI and his explosive first single, ‘Gimme The Love’, will impact on April 15. 

Bugg explains that the album's title was inspired by a saying known in his hometown, which means 'on my own': “In a lot of ways it sums up this record because it mainly has been me on my own. I saw this as the logical next step in my development as a songwriter. It was a challenge but something I felt I had to do.”

‘On My One’ is a blues-infused offering and referring to the genre, Bugg added: “Blues is my favourite genre. Whether it’s soul or hip hop, it all stems from the blues. To me the blues just means singing your emotions and expressing your pain so others can feel it. That’s the beauty of music. If nothing else, I’d like to think I’ve done that with this record.”
