Hitmaker James Arthur has given his devoted fans an update on the progress of his long-awaited new album. 

Back in September, the singer-songwriter announced a new record deal and he has been working hard in the studio on new music that he promises is on the horizon. Arthur tweeted:

"Just wanna let you guys know that I'm very close to finishing writing for this album, just 2 more sessions and then we go into production! Thanks to all my true fans for baring with me whilst I've been quietly working on my craft and trying to live a happy life in between."

He returned to his social media page this morning (January 14) and opened up about a new song that appeared on iTunes recently:

"Hey guys, you may have noticed we have released a single on iTunes in America "The Truth" this is a sync for a TV show out there in March! Just to be clear this is not the official 1st single from my the album it's only available on US iTunes for now."
