James Arthur: 'I like my chances of this album being recognised as the best of the year'

Former 'X Factor' winner James Arthur has revealed that 2016 appears to be the "year of the underdog", which might bode well for the release of his upcoming new studio album. 

The musician took to his official Twitter page tonight (July 6) and explained that the fancies his chances of this record doing well given everything that's happened this year:

"Wales get to the final tonight it's officially year of the underdog. I like my chances of this album being recognised as the best of the year."

As previously reported, Arthur confirmed to his followers at the end of June that he has shot the cover photograph for the album: "Great day yesterday doing the album cover shoot in Barcelona with @olafheinestudio his team and @columbia_de."

On June 17, he explained that significant progress has been made and he is now at the stage where he is choosing the first single: "Album soundin' mint and we are about to choose the official single. It's all happenin'!"
