James Arthur rep says police are investigating singer being 'glassed'

A rep for James Arthur says police are now investigating a reported assault on the singer at the weekend.

Recent reports suggested that the singer was hit with a glass on the head in Redcar on Saturday (August 20).

Responding to a fan who asked if he was okay, the former X Factor winner replied:

"I'm fine thank you. No worries, we move on #BackFromTheEdge."

He also thanked Jahmene for his well-wishes on Twitter, replying: "Thanks bro, I'll be okay bitta concussion can't stop me."

A rep for Arthur said the singer has nothing more to add and that it is now a "police matter".

Police meanwhile confirmed: "We received a report of an assault at the Plimsoll Line on Redcar High Street at around 10.40pm on Saturday August 20.

"A 28-year-old man received a head wound after he was reported to have been hit with a bottle.

"The man was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment. Inquiries are ongoing in relation to the incident."
