James Arthur: 'I auditioned for 'The Voice' but my heart wasn't in it'

Singer James Arthur has confessed that before winning 'The X Factor' he actually auditioned for rival TV vocal talent show, 'The Voice'.

He made the admission during an interview with Capital FM and explained that he wasn't too keen on the latter because it felt as though finalists were pre-decided, despite the fact that he made it to the last 200 hopefuls:

"Well I went to do it, well I got asked to come down, I made the last 200... But it was just very apparent to me that they were just had had all these ex-TV stars that they had already decided on going through. How many of them was there? It was a bit of a fix for me."

Arthur added that his negative feelings towards that particular programme drove him to try auditioning for Simon Cowell's show, 'The X Factor': "My heart wasn't in it, I didn't like the structure of it, I don't like the producers, I liked nothing about it. So I went and won a bigger show!"

He will release his self-titled debut album on November 4 and fans can pre-order it now through iTunes.
