James Arthur: "There's more f*cking important things in life than boybands"

James Arthur has commented on boybands such as One Direction and Union J in a series of Twitter messages.

The X Factor 2012 winner started off by criticising current talent show hopefuls Kingsland Road.

He later said that One Direction and X Factor buddies Union J "sh*t on anything else doing boyband stuff".

Whilst stating that he respects any group or artist who 'puts themselves out there', Arthur took an emotional turn by then suggesting that there is more to life than idolising pop groups.

He said: "Sorry if it's not necessarily my thing musically or if I think some of it is imposed on us..Sorry if that means I have a massive head lol. What ya gunna do about it? Shoot me? Make my day...Someone who practically brought me up/ a dear relative of mine just died!"

Arthur concluded: "There's more f*cking important things in life than boybands I'm afraid. R.i.p to my nanna isobelle I love you so much xxx."

He has since deleted a number of his messages, typing: "Tweets were deleted in light of recent events being more important not because I retract my opinions. No little crazy 1d fan will affect me."

It's not the first time the 'Impossible' singer has been caught up in boyband talk on Twitter, with Arthur recently being forced to clarify alleged criticism of One Direction's marketing power.

The singer-songwriter meanwhile is due to release his self-titled debut album on November 4.
