James Arthur: 'My braces have helped me to be a better vocalist'

Singer and 'X Factor' winner James Arthur has revealed that he feels as though his braces have helped him to be a better vocalist as he's more aware of how he forms and sounds words.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz about his ongoing dental work, the rising star explained that having the restricting braces has been a good experience:

"They don't affect my singing, if anything they have made my singing better, because I'm more focused on my diction. More so than I used to be, because I know that it can affect your diction so I'm thinking about that a little bit more."

"They definitely are uncomfortable and I can't wait to get them off in December and have a bit of work done, and then have teeth that I'm happy with."

The 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You' hitmaker joked that the only downside comes when he's trying to kiss because the metal makes it a little awkward: "Sometimes you can get gets cuts when kissing. I was kissing a girl and I did have a little cut on my mouth and it kept getting caught and it wasn't comfortable. So I had to stop kissing her."
