iTunes issues James Arthur album refund to offended customer

Former 'X Factor' winner James Arthur recently shocked his fans by using a homophobic slur in a rap diss and now iTunes has made an exception to its terms and conditions where refunds are concerned for one fan who purchased a copy of his debut album, but was deeply offended by his recent behaviour.

In a letter that went viral earlier this morning from iTunes to an unhappy customer (screenshots below), a sales advisor informs the fan that she is eligible for a refund because of the special circumstance. The letter, written to a woman named Louise, reads:

"I understand that you would like to cancel the album you have purchased because of the comments made by the artist which you didn't like. I am happy to help you on this matter."

"Louise, after reviewing the circumstances of your case, we determined that issuing you a refund for your purchase of "James Arthur" is an appropriate exception to the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions, which state that all sales are final. In seven to ten business days, a credit of 8.99 GBP should be posted to the credit card that appears on the receipt for that purchase."
