James Arthur diagnosed with 'acute exhaustion'

'X Factor' singer James Arthur has cancelled everything in his schedule for the next seven days and has been told to rest by his doctor.

The past few weeks have been a trying time for the rising star where his social networking activity is concerned, and his physician has now diagnosed him with acute exhaustion and ordered him to take the week off.

An official statement from Arthur's team reads:

"Unfortunately James Arthur has been diagnosed with acute exhaustion and instructed to rest for several days by his doctor. Regretfully, he has been forced to cancel all engagements during this period."

"James would like to apologise to his fans for any disappointment caused to them by these cancellations and he hopes to get back to full health as soon as possible."

Arthur caused outrage recently after using a homophobic slur in a rap diss and then got into a Twitter fight with former 'X Factor' contestant Lucy Spraggan (pictured below) over his choice of language.
