James Blake and Mercury Prize nominees enjoy surge in sales figures

Winner of this year’s Mercury Prize, James Blake, is enjoying a sizable boost in album sales.

Since winning the award and £20,000 prize on October 30, Blake’s album ‘Overgrown’ has had a sudden surge in sales.

On Amazon, James Blake's prize-winning second album ‘Overgrown’ has seen a 2538% rise in sales.

James’ fellow Mercury nominees have also seen their record sales soar following the award ceremony which was hosted by Lauren Laverne at London’s Roundhouse.

Savages’ debut album ‘Silence Yourself’ has seen a sales uplift of 278%, David Bowie’s ‘The Next Day’ figures are up by 215% and Laura Muvula’s ‘Sing To The Moon’ has seen a 165% rise in units sold.

These increases in sales figures include vinyl, CD and MP3 album formats.
