Embankment Summer Market 2016

Last Summer's Success Returns to London's Northbank

Embankment Summer Market returns to Victoria Embankment Gardens on London’s Northbank from Friday 15th July to Sunday 17th July 2016.

Following its highly successful launch in 2015, which saw in excess of 15,000 people visit Embankment Summer Market, organisers City Showcase: Markets, the UK’s premier organiser of artisan and designer crafts events, are now inviting applications from stallholders, creatives and musicians who are interested in taking part in the unique free event.

Embankment Summer Market brings together a handpicked selection of emerging artisans, artists, and fashion and jewellery designers with gourmet food and drink vendors and a farmer’s market. There will also be lawn games including giant jenga and croquet plus live entertainment, creating a great family day out.

City Showcase: Markets will curate a handpicked selection of stallholders as well as live performers on the City Showcase stage. The deadline for submissions is 27th February 2016. For more information please visit www.cityshowcasemarkets.com

QUOTES:

Nanette Rigg, Founding Director of City Showcase: Markets added: “The resounding success of Embankment Summer Market in 2015 proved there’s a genuine demand for a unique, boutique, festival style event in Central London featuring new creatives of all disciplines. We are delighted to be returning to the beautiful Victoria Embankment Gardens at the height of Summer and build on our achievements here and at Soho Flea Market. The three-day event aims to showcase the UK’s best creative and design talents, alongside a farmers’ market, street food and drink vendors as well as the best up and coming musicians performing live on the City Showcase stage.”

Sonja Ashbury, Fundraising Officer at The Connection at St Martins-in-the-Fields says:

“Once again, we are pleased to be chosen as the Charity partner of Embankment Summer Market, which is a great way for us to communicate our work with homeless people in Westminster, the borough with the highest rates of rough sleepers in the UK. Apart from raising awareness of homelessness and organising charity collections, we will be making the most of this opportunity by displaying art and photography produced by our clients through the Centre, boosting their confidence and providing a source of income for them. We will also have clients volunteering with us on the day – many want to give something back, and this allows them to be active in raising awareness of their situations and leaving their homelessness behind.”
