Janet Devlin didn't want to rush an album post-X Factor

Janet Devlin says she didn't feel pressured into releasing an album straight off the back of being on the X Factor.

The Northern Irish singer was a finalist on the 2011 series of the TV talent show, which was ultimately won by Little Mix.

She released her first full album 'Running With Scissors' today (June 9) and Devlin told Reveal magazine that her fans' dedication let her take time over the record.

The singer said: "A lot of my fans have been here since the start. I interact with them on social media and they still turn up to gigs so I wasn't that worried about [having to release an album quickly after X Factor]. They are great, they are amazing."

Pressparty meanwhile recently caught up with Devlin to speak about life after the X Factor and her new album.
