Jay Z turned dreams into reality for one young fan at a recent gig after inviting him on stage to rap.

The US icon was performing in Greensboro, North Carolina at the weekend and it seems one 12-year-old fan was eager to hit the stage.

He held aloft a sign that read 'Can I rap for you?' - and he got his wish.

Video footage shows the young star in the making appear hesitant before ploughing into Jay Z's 'Clique'.

However, the main man encouraged the youngster to avoid the more 'mature' lines, saying:

"Just skip the drug dealing part and go back to the numbers."

Jay Z then added that the plucky fan also asked if he could meet his idol backstage.
