Jay-Z says music is coming second to his new daughter

Jay-Z has admitted that music is taking a back seat after the birth of his new daughter.

The rapper's love Beyoncé gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter earlier this year and speaking to MTV, Jay-Z said that he had thought her birth might inspire him to create music.

Despite initially creating a track with Blue Ivy's voice in the days after her birth, Jay-Z has said that all he wants to do is spend time with his child, not his music. He said:

"I thought that I would after my daughter was born. I thought I would be more inspired with all the new feelings and everything that I'd have to write about, but it really happened the other way. I just really wanna hang out with her. I just wanna enjoy those moments for a bit and I'm sure that feeling of music will come back to me."

As previously reported, Jay-Z has recently announced plans to curate his own festival, which will take place in Philadelphia in September.
