Jay-Z brings out Rihanna & Kanye West to help close opening day of Radio 1's Hackney Weekend

Jay-Z has closed the opening day of Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend with a triumphant set featuring guest appearances from Rihanna and Kanye West.

The Roc Nation label boss kept audiences waiting for nearly an hour past his scheduled on-stage time in order to see Jack White’s performance in the In New Music We Trust tent.

But the 42-year-old made it worth the wait as he opened with UK number one 'Run This Town,' with a little help from Rihanna, who is headlining the same Main Stage slot tomorrow.

The iconic rapper then rattled through a number of his biggest hits including 'I Just Wanna Love You,' '99 Problems,' 'Girls Girls Girls,' and ''03 Bonnie & Clyde' before finishing with 'Empire State Of Mind,' while M.I.A. also showed up halfway through his set to perform 'Paper Planes' and 'Bad Girls.'

Jay-Z then returned for the encore with Kanye West, where the pair performed several tracks from their collaborative effort, 'Watch The Throne.'
