Jay-Z: 'Twitter is like weed - I like it, but too much isn't good for me'

'99 Problems' hitmaker Jay-Z has opened up about the impromptu Twitter question and answer session he held earlier this week and likened the social networking site to smoking cannabis.

The superstar rarely posts messages on the site, but when asked by New York radio station Power 105.1's Breakfast Club today (July 10) what inspired the sitting he explained that he sometimes feels drawn to it:

"That was addictive. I can't be on Twitter. It's like weed. I like it, but too much of it is not good for me."

During the interview, Jay-Z also spoke candidly about the bizarre rumours that surrounded his wife Beyoncé's pregnancy and said that reading reports that suggested she had a surrogate to carry baby Blue Ivy was painful: "That's probably the most ridiculous thing I ever heard and the fact that people were really running with that, at first I thought it was one of those get press things like 'let's run with this for press' and then I was slowly like, 'oh y'all believe this? Ya'll really believe this?'"

"That's really messed up because that's the time that you're meant to be most joyous you know you got life and the whole thing supposed to be a joyous time. Whether you say you care about it or not is annoying, and you shouldn't really have to deal with that as a human being but you know that's the position that we're in. No matter how many times you say 'Beyoncé's pregnant,' people are gonna believe what they want to believe."
