Jay Z and Chris Martin opted to take public transport to the American hip hop star's ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ live show at the O2 Arena yesterday (October 12).

The superstar pair were spotted at Waterloo underground station waiting to catch a train to take them six stops along to North Greenwich.

They were also joined by Timbaland for the journey.

Fellow passengers on board were clearly excited by the celebrity spot as Twitter user aminott4 shared the news: “Casually getting on a train with Jay Z, Chris Martin, and Timbaland.”

Once at the South-East London music venue Coldplay’s Chris Martin joined the ‘Empire State of Mind’ rapper onstage to perform 'Ain't No Love (In the Heart of the City)'.

Jay Z will perform another show at the O2 Arena tomorrow (October 14).
