Joe Jonas may have written a song about his ex-girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, as he has used a former break-up to inspire him to write a song for his new band, DNCE.

He said: "I have written a song that is going to p*** someone off.

"They’ll know it’s them but, in a way, it’s a compliment that you affected me that much. Even if the content isn’t positive, at least I cared.”

Jonas is currently in the UK promoting DNCE's track, 'Cake By The Ocean'. On Friday (April 22), the day before Hadid's 21st birthday (April 23), he told The Daily Mirror:

"I think it's interesting that [Gigi] moved on so quickly, I mean it was definitely very quick."
