Katy Perry's infamous Super Bowl sharks have been interviewed by John Mayer.

The musician has been standing in as a host on the Late Late Show in the US before James Corden takes over.

His on/off girlfriend Katy Perry performed at the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 1) and one of her backing dancers - a person dressed as a shark - became a viral online hit.

On Wednesday (February 4) Mayer invited both sharks onto the Late Late Show for a joke interview.

They were accompanied by 'Carl Thorsen, Lead Marine Biologist at the Harrington Institute of Oceanography'.

Mayer meanwhile was thought to have split from Perry last year, but the duo were pictured together at the Super Bowl.
