John Mayer's video for new single "Shadow Days" follows him on a journey from Los Angeles to Montana, and now fans can create their own journey in an interactive version of the video.  The newly launched site (http://shadowdays.johnmayer.com) utilizes the Google Maps Street View API and SoundCloud to allow users to input their starting and ending locations and set off on a virtual roadtrip set to "Shadow Days."  The custom video experience is created on the fly, creating a unique real-time journey each time a new set of locations is entered. 

While on the site, fans can also donate to the Northern California Institute for Research (NCIRE), a charity John is involved with that supports research devoted to veterans' health.  NCIRE pioneers new treatments and understandings of military medicine and care, and strives to set a new standard of health care for Veterans and military personnel.  More info about the organization is available at http://www.ncire.org.  When fans make a $5 or more donation to NCIRE they also receive 25% of the donation amount off a future order at the johnmayer.com store. 

"Shadow Days" is the first single from John Mayer's forthcoming album Born and Raised, which will be released May 22 on Columbia Records.  Early reaction toBorn and Raised has been extremely positive, with Rolling Stone giving the album 4 stars as the lead review in their latest issue and calling it "some of the most convincing music of Mayer's career...every breezy solo or sun-dappled acoustic spindle is comfy and luxe like a spun-silk blanket."  Though Mayer was forced to take an indefinite hiatus from live performing due to the return of the granuloma in his throat, he will be making the rounds on TV to talk about the new album leading up to the release.  He will appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 15, The Late Show With David Letterman on May 17, and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on release day, May 22. 

Mayer produced Born and Raised with Don Was, who worked on albums for acts such as the Rolling Stones, B.B. King and Bonnie Raitt. Rock legends David Crosby and Graham Nash provide vocals on the title song and musicians joining Mayer on the album include highly-regarded keyboardist/pianist Chuck Leavell—who has worked with the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and The Allman Brothers Band—as well as previous collaborators Sean Hurley on bass and Aaron Sterling on drums.  Jim Keltner makes a special appearance on drums on "Something Like Oliva."

Mayer's previous albums—Room for Squares, Heavier Things, Continuum and Battle Studies—have sold more than 12 million copies combined.  He has been honored with seven Grammy Awards and an additional 11 nominations.  He has also been included in Time Magazine's annual Time 100 list of the most influential contemporary thinkers, leaders, artists and entertainers, and twice been featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine's annual "Guitar" issue.
