John Mayer: 'People are too busy on their phones to enjoy concerts'

'Your Body Is A Wonderland' superstar John Mayer has revealed that he gets disillusioned with people when playing live because they tend to pay more attention to their phones than the show.

Speaking about how this generation tends to enjoy gigs, Mayer explained that it's more common to look out into a crowd of camera phones than one of smiling and cheering fans:

"People aren't going crazy and I think to myself, 'I'm not playing a very good show,' and then I look out (into the audience) and they are going crazy, but not for me... they're applauding into the phone."

"So what I do now is I finish the show and I search myself on Instagram to see how people would have cheered had they not had a phone in their hand."
