Keane singer clarifies split reports: 'We're just taking some time out'

'Everybody's Changing' hitmakers Keane have addressed the split rumours that surfaced over the weekend and revealed that the information was twisted by a newspaper.

Singer Tom Chaplin explained that instead of actually calling it quits, they are just taking "a bit of time out from being Keane" and told Real Radio Yorkshire that they're not disappearing forever:

"This is something that has been twisted by one particular article in one particular newspaper over the weekend. All we've said is that we've been very busy for a few years and we'd like to take a bit of time out from being Keane, and somehow that has morphed into 'Keane are splitting up'."

Earlier this summer, Chaplin confirmed plans to work on a solo album and told Britain's Daily Star that he's excited about branching out:

"When I release my songs it will be as a solo project. In Keane we know what we do best and what our roles are, so it’d make sense for me to put my songs out separately to the band.”
