Sas Metcalfe has been promoted from Executive Vice President Creative to the newly created position of President, Global Creative for Kobalt Music Group, it was announced today by Willard Ahdritz, Founder and CEO of Kobalt Music Group, and Richard Sanders, President of Kobalt Music Group.

Continuing her responsibilities managing Kobalt's global 18-person creative services team, Metcalfe, who is based in Los Angeles, reports to Sanders and is responsible for Kobalt's creative deals, including new signings, acquisitions and identifying new partnerships with emerging publishers. She also oversees artist, writer and producer collaborations and development for both direct signings as well as for the talent rosters of some of Kobalt's publishing company clients.

In making the announcement, Ahdritz said: "We are pleased to promote Sas to this newly created position, which is a result of not only her hard work but also the continuing growth of the company's expansive and important global roster. One of my biggest pleasures at Kobalt is to promote great people and promoting Sas, my first employee in 2001, is outstanding."

During her tenure at Kobalt, Metcalfe has built the company's creative staff and diverse creative roster, which is a who's who of the world's top and emerging artists, songwriters and producers. She has personally signed to Kobalt such talent as Iain Archer, Bjork, Thom Yorke/Nigel Godrich (Atoms For Peace), Markus Dravs, Eg White, Little Dragon, Moby, Polar Patrol Music Publishing, Soul Kitchen Music (Jake Bugg/Editors), Guy Chambers, San Remo Live Ltd., And Music Publishing, DJ Shadow, Communion Publishing, Badly Drawn Boy, Richard Ashcroft, Big Life Music, B-Unique Music Limited, among many others.

Metcalfe joined Kobalt from EMI Records UK where she was head of A&R. Prior to EMI, Metcalfe was head of A&R for Warner Chappell Music Publishing UK for 8 years.
