LeAnn Rimes: 'All the ups and downs in my life and career brought me to this place'

Songstress LeAnn Rimes has revealed that she understands that she had to go through difficult things to get to this point in her life.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2 this week, she was asked if she's where she thought she would be in her life and confessed that while she doesn't know, she is happy in herself right now and that means everything:

"Is there a place I am supposed to think I thought I would be? I guess maybe? Or I don't know. I really don't know how to answer that question! So all the ups and downs in my life and career have brought me to this place so it all makes sense all of a sudden. So it's 'Oh that's why I went through that', that and it's like now it feels really good."

She went onto add that she really broke down when she was being publicly shamed for cheating on her former husband Dean Sheremet with her now husband Eddie Cibrian: "I lost my mind in private. I've gone through a lot, every transition and every feeling that goes along with being a child star."

"I can see now why at 33 things happened the way they did and all of these lessons I've learned. But it was hell at times ... (The affair) was a mistake but it also led me to my marriage. I didn't know how to deal with that and it became this snowball effect."
