Little Mix on 'Salute' single: 'It just happened and it was sick'

Girl group Little Mix have revealed that they knew 'Salute' would be a single as soon as they heard it because the track had such an anthemic sound.

Speaking to Digital Spy about recording the offering, member Leigh-Anne Pinnock admitted that it just came together in the studio so naturally it was almost as if the song was just 'meant to be':

"I think from the start, as soon as we heard 'Salute' - when we heard the beat we just got so excited and started writing things over it. Sometimes it takes a while to get a song whereas that just came and it was sick."

She went onto add that it seems to have a broad appeal: "We were jumping around and we were partying, and when the album came out, everybody just seemed to love it - boys, girls, women, our mums, our dads - everybody just loved it. It's a perfect close to the 'Salute' campaign."
