Little Mix tease release dates of new album and lead single: 'We are so excited'

Girl group Little Mix are finishing work on their next album and took to Twitter this afternoon (March 12) for a Twitter question and answer session with their 6.63 million followers.

Jesy Nelson answered a fan who wanted to know what her favourite thing about working on the group's third album was and explained: "I've loved creating a new sound! Can't wait for u guys to hear it!!!"

Another follower asked the girls about the record's release date and blonde bombshell Perrie Edwards teased that it is likely to be unveiled in the near future with the lead single coming even sooner: "Hopefully summer! We are so excited! First single should be hitting radio VERRRYYYY soon!"

Jade Thirlwall, meanwhile, recently told We Love Pop magazine that she's tired of the public assuming that they have no control over their sound or career because they came from 'The X Factor':

"[People think] that we're young and naïve. I think most people just assume we're four little girls who are puppets of Simon Cowell – that annoys us. Because not only do we write our own music, we do everything ourselves. Simon lets us do our own thing."
